Absorbine Ultrashield Sport is a water-based, citronella-scented insecticide and repellent formulated to protect horses from biting flies, nuisance flies, gnats, and mosquitoes. Its sweat-resistant, dust-resistant formula is designed to remain active for up to 14 days and to withstand rain, making it suitable for rides, turnout, and intense workouts in hot, humid conditions.
- Active ingredient: Cypermethrin (1.00%) — provides labeled insecticidal and repellent activity.
- Lasting protection: Remains active up to 14 days; label directions call for reapplication every 14 days for fly control and every 5–7 days for ongoing mosquito repellency.
- Application notes: Shake well, apply to a dry, brushed coat; apply to the face with a wipe and wear gloves when wiping. Cover feed and water during application.
- Safety and environmental notes: Avoid eyes and mucous membranes; not for use on food animals. Product is toxic to fish, aquatic invertebrates, and bees — avoid use near water and flowering plants.
- Storage and maintenance: Store above freezing; reapply after bathing or heavy washing to maintain protection.
